The story of Autowerkes:
What makes a Certified Structural Engineer become a Car Repair Shop Owner?
First, you spend a few years back in the 70's racing SCCA and you develop a passion for fine European Cars. Then, not content with just working on your own race car, you decide to do a complete professional turnaround and you go to work for a Porsche and BMW Dealer. In the process you obtain all the Factory Training you can get your hands on and continuing with your quest for knowledge in your new field, you study and take the necessary tests to become an ASE Certified Master Technician.
That's how Bruce Powers, the owner, came to open his own shop, in the same location that it is today, 24 years ago. Those 24 years have seen a couple generations of his original satisfied customers still coming to him for quality service for their BMW, Porsche or Mercedes, with many of them (that moved out of the area) driving all the way from L.A. or San Diego to have their car serviced in his shop.
His attention to detail, the quality of workmanship delivered, as well as the high level of personalized service that he offers, are simply beyond compare in the industry. If you own a BMW, Porsche or Mercedes, you definitely owe it to yourself to pay him a visit.
